HARRISBURG – Rep. Jim Gregory (R-Blair) today announced that DelGrosso Foods Inc. has been approved for a $2 million low-interest loan over 15 years through the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority (PIDA). These funds would be used to purchase new facilities and equipment for the company.

DelGrosso Foods, a pizza and spaghetti sauce manufacturer based in Tipton is growing, and thus outgrowing its current facilities. The company plans to use this loan to purchase and renovate a new manufacturing building in Antis Township. The space will initially be used for warehousing, but with plans to be converted to a new production facility within two years.

Gregory recently attended a tour of the current plant to see the facilities and speak with the company about their plans for expansion.

“DelGrosso Foods has been a part of Blair County since the early 1900s with their original roots in Altoona, only minutes from Tipton,” said Gregory. “Their plans for this expansion are sound and their success to date speaks for itself. I am happy to witness their progress and look forward to seeing more of the same.”

The expansion project is expected to create an additional nine full-time jobs over the next three years.

PIDA is an independent authority staffed and regulated through the Department of Community and Economic Development. The organization provides capital for building acquisition, construction and renovation work, machinery and equipment. PIDA also offers working capital lines of credit for manufacturers, industrial developers, research and development firms, agricultural processors and employers looking to establish national or regional headquarters in Pennsylvania.
