HARRISBURG – Rep. Jim Gregory (R-Blair)
penned a letter Friday to Gov. Tom Wolf, asking him for an update into how the Pennsylvania Department of State failed to properly advertise a proposed ballot question.
The advertising issue yanked from the May 18 ballots a proposed constitutional amendment that would give survivors of childhood sexual abuse a two-year window to file lawsuits.
The Legislature is now attempting to accomplish the two-year window through other means, but Gregory wants accountability for the failure on the proposed amendment he authored.
“Was it human error or was it part of a bigger effort to once again cover up for institutions looking to protect themselves from the very people individuals of these institutions raped, sodomized and abused?” he asked in the letter to the governor.
Gregory is calling for a swift conclusion to any investigation into the error and disclosure of the findings.
