HARRISBURG – State Rep. Jim Gregory (R-Blair) will be joined by representatives of the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General and law enforcement during an informational session on how to protect yourself from scams.
The Tuesday, July 23, event will provide information about scams perpetrated via phone, email and mail as well as those committed by fraudsters in person.
Presenters are Michelle Nutter from the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General, Trooper Christopher Fox from the Pennsylvania State Police and Blair County Sheriff James Ott.
The panelists will answer questions from the audience.
“Unfortunately, identity thieves and other criminals have gotten more brazen and more creative in their duplicity in recent years, which means their fraud can often appear as having come from a legitimate source. I’m thankful the attorney general’s office, state police and the county sheriff monitor reported scams and can share information with us,” Gregory said.
The seminar on scams will be 6-8 p.m. in the Northern Blair Senior Center at 505 Third St., Tyrone.
This event is free and open to the public. Seating is limited to the first 100 people. Those with questions can call 814-695-2398.
